Candle Care:

Wood wick candles require some specific care to ensure they burn properly and provide an optimal experience. Here are some tips for caring for wood wick candles:

1. Trim the Wood Wick: Before lighting your wood wick candle, trim the wick to about 1/8 to 1/4 inch (0.3 to 0.6 cm). This helps prevent high flames and ensures a clean burn.

2. First Burn: Allow the candle to burn until the wax melts to the edges of the container. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn. The first burn may take a bit longer than subsequent burns.

3. Burn Time: Wood wick candles often have a recommended burn time, usually around 3-4 hours. Avoid burning them for too long, as this can lead to excessive flame height and soot.

4. Extinguish Properly: Instead of blowing out the flame, use a wick dipper or snuffer to extinguish the fire. Blowing on the flame can cause hot wax to splatter.

5. Wood Wick Maintenance: After extinguishing the candle, ensure that the wood wick is centered and trimmed before relighting. If the wick becomes too long, it may not burn properly.

6. Keep Wax Pool Clean: Remove any debris or ash from the wood wick before relighting the candle. This helps maintain a clean burn.

7. Container Placement: Place wood wick candles on a level, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, flammable objects, and out of reach of children and pets.

8. Refrain from Moving: Avoid moving the candle while the wax is still hot. Wait for the wax to cool and solidify before relocating the candle.

9. Storage: Store wood wick candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their quality.

10. Discontinue Use: Stop using the candle when there is about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) of wax remaining at the bottom. Burning beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.

Each candle sold by Wicks & Figs are all hand poured, because of this, candles may have some imperfections like color difference on each candle, might be off centered label, designs might slightly different. Since i use soy waxes, there night be some visible sink holes, some visible frosting. It won't be perfect but i assure you all these imperfections won't affect the quality of the candle.
